TV Too Loud? Ears Blocked With Wax?
Ear wax, or cerumen, is a naturally produced substance that protects the ear canal from external hazards.Traps dirt, insects, bacteria, and other foreign particles, preventing them from reaching the eardrum. It also repels water and keeps the ear canal moist and free from dryness and cracking. The ears are relatively self-regulating and can remove excess ear wax.
A build-up of earwax in your ear can cause several problems, including:
- Earache
- Hearing loss
- Tinnitus (hearing sounds from inside your body)
- Itchiness in or around the ear
- Vertigo (a spinning sensation)
- Ear infections
Symptoms of ear wax build-up include earache, ringing noises, and hearing problems. Do not stick anything into your ear, see a doctor if your ears are hurting.
Aesthetics By Lee offers the removal of ear wax via water ear irrigation.
For 3 days prior to appointment, client MUST soften the ear wax by instilling ear softening agents such as olive oil at night. This allows the wax to be removed with ease and prevents rupturing the ear drum.
Lee will assess the ear canal before and after the procedure.
